AmCham Egypt held a cultural evening at the Cairo Opera House with a live performance by Maestro Raul Di Blasio. The Argentinian pianist and composer, popularly known as “The Pianist of the People,” marked his return to Egypt four months since his stellar performance at a fundraising dinner co-hosted by The Suzanne Mubarak Women’s Peace Movement and AmCham Egypt. Mrs. Mubarak was among the guests of honor attending the evening’s event.
Following a stunning solo performance, Di Blasio shared the stage with an international band that included a British keyboardist, Mexican drummer, Puerto Rican percussionist and Argentinian saxophonist. He captivated audiences with a musical tour of Latin America, playing traditional favorites from Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, Puerto Rico and his homeland, Argentina. He went on to perform with a 15-string orchestra and a talented American singer.
Following the performance, Di Blasio expressed his gratitude to being able to return to Egypt for a second time. He personally thanked Mrs. Mubarak and AmCham president Taher Helmy for their efforts in making it happen.
