Illinois-graduate PM honored at dinner

The Prime Minister of Egypt, HE Dr. Atef Ebeid, was honored by the University of Illinois as an "Distinguished Alumnus" at a special dinner organized by AmCham Egypt on January 15.

Minister of Public Works & Water Resources HE Dr. Mahmoud Abou Zeid, HE Dr. Minister of Education Hussein Kamel Bahaa El Din, Ambassadors David Welch (US), John Sawers (UK) and Ian Boag (EU) attended the dinner, along with the presidents of the American University in Cairo (AUC) and Cairo University.

Officials from the University of Illinois were on hand to present the prime minister with the special award. Also in attendance were AmCham Egypt board members and committee officers, in addition to representatives of several US companies.
