Farewell to Pearson

AmCham Egypt board members and committee chairs, along with representatives of USAID projects, attended a special breakfast on January 20 to bid farewell to USAID country director Willard Pearson, who is moving on to a new post as counselor at USAID in Washington, DC.

AmCham Egypt president Mohamed Mansour said Pearson was a valuable friend, and that "USAID under his directorship has been quite active and supportive of the Egyptian economy."

Pearson said that he had while he had worked closely with American chambers of commerce in several countries, he had "never met an AmCham as dynamic and as influential in the life of the community as here."

He added that his new position would give him a continued opportunity "to engage my friends in Egypt."
