Mohamed Gamal Moharam is the chairman of MGM Banking and Financial Consultants. Mr. Moharam was CEO and managing director of Piraeus Bank Egypt (formerly Egyptian Commercial Bank) from 2002 to 2008. Graduating from the commerce department of Cairo University in 1974, Mr. Moharam has focused in his career on the banking industry, from credit and marketing officer at Citibank, to assistant vice president of Fleet National Bank and chief representative of the Bank of New York in Cairo, to his position in Piraeus Bank.
Mr. Moharam is a member of various business chambers and federations and board officer for a number of prominent socially responsible institutes. He has been a board member of the following organizations: Jesuits Alumni (2002-06), Federation of Egyptian Banks (2005-08), Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges (2008), Eastern Tobacco Company (2008 to date), Sixth of October University (2005 to date) and Rasmala Investment Company (2008 to date). Mr. Moharam has also served as treasurer of the Gezira Club (2006 to date), executive vice president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (2003-07), and the founder and treasurer of People & Police for Egypt Organization (2007 to date).
Mr. Moharam was born in Cairo in 1950. He is married to Hayam El Sharkawy, is the father of two married daughters, and the grandfather of Zeina, Hassan and Gamal.

Curt Ferguson began his career with Coca-Cola USAin Atlanta, Georgia in 1983. After transferring toAsia in 1988, he held a variety of management and bottler positions in sub¬sidiaries of The Coca-Cola Companies in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
In July 2000, he assumed the position of managing director of The Coca-Cola Bot¬tling Company of Egypt. Mr. Ferguson was an active member of the local community, serving as chairman of the Community Services Association board, chairman of the Cairo American College board, a board member of the Bilateral Fulbright Commission and vice president of AmCham Egypt. Coca-Cola Egypt was given the U.S. State De¬partment Award for Corporate Citizenship by Colin Powell in 2002 for its outstanding contribution to the community.
In 2002, Mr. Ferguson assumed the position of senior region manager for WestAfrica, based in Côte d'Ivoire, and in late 2003, became senior regional director for the West¬ernAfrica region, based in Morocco. In January 2005, he was appointed president of the North and West Africa Division, based in Cairo, Egypt. In 2007, he became president of the North and West Africa Business Unit, responsible for the 27 countries of North and West Africa. In 2009, the business unit's role was expanded to include Nigeria.
Mr. Ferguson was appointed by the U.S. commerce secretary to be on the board of the U.S.-Egypt Business Council. He also serves as chairman of the Community ServiceAs¬sociation, and as a board member of theAmerican Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and the North African Bottling Company and Fruital Bottling Company in Algeria.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in finance and management from Indiana University and is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at Stanford University and the Executive Management Program conducted by Wharton and Emory universities. He currently serves on the International Committee for the Indiana Uni¬versity Foundation.

Anis A. Aclimandos

Anis Aclimandos is the president of TransCentury Associates (TCA), which man¬ages development projects worldwide. He is also president of Woodies, a subsidiary of TCA, which is the import agent for Eastman-Kodak.
Mr. Aclimandos has handled large merger and acquisitions projects in the Mid¬dle East, attracting FDI to the region from many countries.
Mr. Aclimandos joined the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt in 1983. He was elected to the board of governors in 1987 and re-elected in 1988 and 2007. He has served as chair of AmCham's Customs, Investment & Trade and Interna¬tional Donor Programs committees, and as vice president, membership from 2001 to 2005.
A certified accountant, Mr. Aclimandos earned a Bachelor's of Arts in account¬ing from Cairo University and holds Egyptian and U.S. certification in financial management and analysis.

Adel Danish is the chairman and CEO of Xceed, a Telecom Egypt subsidiary established in 2001 that functions as its information technology arm. Dr. Danish began his career as a researcher at the IBM Scientific Center in Paris, France, going on to hold several technical and marketing positions within IBM. He founded Standard-Data S.A. in France in 1978, and is the founder and co-founder of several other companies in the IT field in Egypt, France and the United States.
Dr. Danish chairs the board of directors of Smart Villages Company, which runs a high-tech business park on the outskirts of Cairo. He was appointed a member of the board of directors of Telecom Egypt in June 2000, served on the board of directors of the Egyptian High Tech Association from 1998 to 1999, and has been a member of the board of trustees of the French University in Egypt since 1998. He has been a member of AmCham Egypt since 1990, and established its Information Technology Committee, which he chaired for two terms. He also served as president of the Club d’Affaires Franco-Egyptien in 1996 and 1997, and serves as chairman of the board of advisers of the School of Business at the American University in Cairo.
At the international level, Dr. Danish has co-chaired the Arab Business Forum for Information & Communications Technology (ABFICT) since 2001. He is on the Business Steering Committee of the Global Business Dialogue on Electronic Commerce (GBDe), where he played an active role as co-chair for the Europe/Africa region from 2004 to 2005.
Dr. Danish is the author and co-author of several European and American patents in the areas of telecommunications and information technology, and was awarded the “Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite” in France in 2000.

Khaled Abu Bakr is managing director of TAQA Arabia. TAQA is the parent company
for a full-service Middle East energy distribution group, based in Cairo with
a paid capital of LE 1.2 billion. TAQA operates through 18 companies and employs
over 2,750 staff at operations in Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Syria and
Libya.
TAQA's scope of activity covers engineering, natural gas distribution, electricity
generation and distribution, and fueling stations for car fuels and natural gas (CNG).
TAQA is also constructing and operating Mashrek, a new oil product tank farm east
of the Suez Canal.
Mr. Abu Bakr has served as chairman of AmCham Egypt's Energy Committee
and is a member of the U.S.-Egypt Business Council.
Mr. Abu Bakr has worked his entire career in the energy industry, participating
in the development and evolution of the gas industry in Egypt. He worked for the
public sector for 12 years, where he took responsibilities for several national projects.
For the last 11 years, he has participated in developing and enlarging the role
of the private sector in the gas and energy industry by incorporating and leading several
companies.
Mr. Abu Bakr obtained his Bachelor's of Science in mechanical engineering from
Cairo University and has supported his academic studies with an MBA in management
of oil and gas companies from Montreal University, a diploma in project management
for engineers from the American University in Cairo, and a diploma in
international oil and gas financial management from the University of Texas. He has
also completed Harvard University's Reform & Privatization Program.

Ahmed Samy

Ahmed Samy is an entrepreneur with business interests spanning different sectors. He is co-founder of Iwan for Investment & Development – a fast-growing real estate enterprise, managing partner in publishing firm Live-Colors Egypt, which produces the monthly Community Times and quarterly Turath magazines, and co-founder of Business Technology Management, a company recently formed in Dubai Internet City serving the Middle East IT markets.
Until recently, Mr. Samy served as managing director of Hewlett-Packard (HP) Egypt, and he has extensive managerial and business experience in the field of information technology. Prior to working with HP, Mr. Samy worked for a series of multinational companies, including Cullinet Software and Oracle Corporation. He also provided consultancy services, system design and analysis to many Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Egyptian companies. At HP, Mr. Samy moved in 2002 from Middle East government and industrial sectors sales director to managing director for HP Egypt. In 2005, he was appointed public sector regional director – HP Middle East.
Mr. Samy’s assignment to HP Egypt took place just after the announcement of HP and Compaq’s merger. One of his major tasks was to streamline the merger internally for employees of both companies as well as externally with customers, partners and industry consultants. HP Egypt has since achieved double-digit year-on-year growth and secured a leading position in the Egyptian market. Under Mr. Samy’s leadership, HP contributed to and developed several corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Mr. Samy is a board member of a number of NGOs, including the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, Friends of the Opera and the Rotary Club of Cairo Royal.
He conducted his postgraduate studies at the University of Hull, United Kingdom, and is currently undertaking an MBA from Edinburgh Business School.

Hala El Barkouky

Hala El Barkouky, the founder and managing partner of Allied Business Consultants (ABC), is a business transformation management consultant. Since its inception in 1996, ABC has been contracted for the provision of privatization advisory services to the Government of Egypt. ABC’s scope of activities includes international business in the field of investment banking and business restructuring.
Ms. El Barkouky is a board member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. She has previously served as chair of AmCham’s Women in Business Committee and has held two committee co-chair positions since 2001. She is also chairperson of Women Investment Notebook, a member of the Egyptian Capital Market Association and was a speaker at the Women in Public Life Summit in Bermuda on the subject of women and peace.
Before establishing ABC, Ms. El Barkouky was a member of the team managing Egypt’s privatization program. Prior to that, she gained 18 years of finance and banking experience in a number of prominent financial and banking institutions in Egypt.

Thomas (Tom) E. Thomason

Tom Thomason assumed the role of CEO of the Egyptian Refining Company (ERC) in November 2007. The company is developing and building a $3.5 billion hydro-cracking/coking facility in the environs of Cairo. The project is a public-private partnership and is strongly supported by the Egyptian government as an import substitution project for refined petroleum products.
Mr. Thomason has over 30 years’ experience in project and commercial management, having lived and worked in Egypt, France, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, as well as in various locations in the United States. During his 25year tenure with Bechtel, he held numerous management positions with responsibility for legal, commercial and operations functions. Prior to joining ERC, Mr. Thomason served as Globeleq’s vice president for North Africa and managing director of Sidi Krir Generating Company, with management responsibility for the construction and commercial operations of Egypt’s first privately owned and operated power plant, which is now in its eighth year of successful operations. Mr. Thomason’s experience at Sidi Krir included its initial financing, a refinancing and three shareholder transactions.
Mr. Thomason serves on the boards of the American University in Cairo, the Binational Fulbright Commission and the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. He has previously served as chair of the AmCham Energy Committee.
Mr. Thomason received his Bachelor’s of Arts and Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas in Austin.

Omar A. Mohanna

Omar Mohanna is chairman of Suez Cement Group of Companies, a leading cement producer in Egypt. He is also chairman of theAlexandria Tire Company, Egypt’s largest tire producer and a subsidiary of Pirelli. He has served on the board of directors of diverse companies, and is currently a board member ofACE Insurance Company, Egypt, an affiliate of the U.S. multinational ACE.
Mr. Mohanna’s over 25 years of local and international commercial and investment banking experience culminated in the position of vice chairman and managing director of Egypt Arab African Bank (EAAB). He subsequently held the position of managing director ofAccor Hotels Group in Egypt, a subsidiary of the multinationalAccor Group.
As an economist, and through active participation in a number of business organizations and ministerial bodies, Mr. Mohanna has supported the growth of Egypt’s private sector, bringing his knowledge and expertise to bear at the policy level, and promoting increased trade and investment.
Mr. Mohanna is the past president of theAmerican Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, vice chairman of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES), honorary chairman of the Egyptian Insurance Brokers’Association and chairman of the Industry Leaders committee of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI). He is also a member of the FEI’s Foreign Relations Committee, the French Egyptian Chamber of Commerce, the Egyptian Businessmen Association and Egypt’s International Economic Forum. He is a member of the general assembly of the Holding Company for Roads, Bridges & Land Transport and the board of trustees of the Egyptian Institute of Directors, and is a member of the Export Council for Building Materials.
At the broader community level, Mr. Mohanna is a board member of the New Civic Forum and the Association for the Protection of the Environment, as well as a member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs.

Hisham A. Fahmy

Hisham Fahmy has been serving as executive director then CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt since December 1999, before which he was general manager from 1987 to 1993. He is also the founder and former chairman of the Egyptian Society of Association Executives (EgSAE), an association whose mission is to enhance the professional management of associations in Egypt. Mr. Fahmy previously served as acting director of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies, a nonprofit think tank that carries out and disseminates independent economic research. He worked on implementing programs that furthered the center’s mission, and oversaw the financing and administration that sustains them.
Mr. Fahmy developed quality systems and initiated business contacts between one of Egypt’s largest international corporations, International Group of Investment (IGI), and its clients and suppliers. He spent a decade acquiring firsthand private sector expertise in travel and tourism, and representing engineering, construction and electronics firms.
Mr. Fahmy graduated from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 1974 with a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He currently serves on the advisory board of AUC’s School of Business and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

Abdel Moneim El Tawil

Abdel Moneim El Tawil joined the Egyptian Air Force as a candidate at the Air Academy in 1955. Gen. El Tawil graduated from the Egyptian Air Academy as a pilot officer in 1957 and served in fighter squadrons for most of his flying career. He graduated from the Command & Staff College in 1970, the French Air War College in 1977, Nasser’s Higher Military Academy War College in 1981 and the Defense College in 1988. He retired as a general in 1990.
From 1985 to 1990, Gen. El Tawil was actively involved in security and procurement matters between Egypt and the United States. As a civilian he joined Triangle Trading & Engineering Company as vice president in 1990, specializing in the fields of aviation, defense, information systems, machinery and heavy equipment. He is currently a consultant to Triangle Trading & Engineering and other companies and a senior member of AmCham Egypt.

Ahmed Abou Ali is the current chair of the Legal Affairs Committee and has served as vice president for legal affairs of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. Alex Shalaby

Alex Shalaby has been chairman of the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Mobinil) since September 2008, prior to which he served as president and CEO from 2005. He was promoted to his current position following his previous success, where the company witnessed continued market share leadership, tripled its subscriber base from 6 million to 19 million, doubled its revenues, and increased net profits by 30 percent.
Mr. Shalaby came to Mobinil from Washington, D.C., where he was AT&T’s director for public affairs, serving as the company’s link to lawmakers on Capitol Hill and lobbying the executive branch of the U.S. government. He helped in achieving liberalization of the telecoms sector internationally for the emerging nations of the Middle East, Africa and eastern Europe through the relevant bilateral and multilateral agencies. During these years, he served on the boards of the American Chamber of Commerce, of which he was president for 1991-92, the Binational Fulbright Commission and Seeds of Peace. He currently chairs the board of Injaz and Student in Free Enterprise (SIFE) in Egypt. Between 1993 and 1995, Mr. Shalaby was regional director for international public affairs for AT&T based in Cairo, where he was the principal interface with key agencies in various governments in the region on matters impacting AT&T’s operations.
Mr. Shalaby holds a Bachelor’s of Science in electrical engineering from Alexandria University and a Master’s of Science in electrical engineering and computer science from San José State University in California.

Amr M. Aboualam

Amr Aboualam started working in the telecommunication and information technology industries in 1993 after graduating from Alexandria University’s Faculty of Engineering. He has founded and co-founded several successful companies working in the Internet, telecom and IT sectors.
In July 1995, Mr. Aboualam co-founded Soficom Communication SAE, one of the first Internet service providers in the Middle East, and led the company as managing director to become one of the largest Internet and value added service providers in Egypt. In 2003, he joined National Telecom Corporation, one of the largest telecom holding groups in Egypt, with 17 subsidiaries, as consultant to the chairman of the group and director of corporate strategies and business planning for the Egyptian Company for Networks (EgyNet) – currently Etisalat Misr.
Mr. Aboualam also co-founded Smart Villages Company, where he has served as managing director, a board member and, since July 2008, CEO. Smart Villages Company was founded in 2001 as a public-private partnership to establish a branded chain of technology and business parks on the local and regional levels. Smart Village Cairo, the prime business and technology park in Egypt, accommodates multinational and local ICT companies, financial institutions and banks, together with governmental authorities, research and development institutes and labs, on 3 million square meters in the west of Cairo.
Mr. Aboualam is an active member of several professional, private and governmental industry workgroups. He is currently an elected board member at the Egyptian Junior Business Association and head of the sustainable development task force.

Dalia Wahba helped found CID, a management and communication consultancy firm operating in Egypt since 1995.
Ms. Wahba has extensive experience in designing and managing integrated marketing communication programs for large and medium-sized companies in information technology, telecommunication, finance and other business areas. She has more than 15 years of expertise in communication through designing and rolling out public awareness and outreach programs for a number of issues as diverse as capital market development, mortgage finance and environment. Notable achievements include the design and implementation of a number of national awareness programs as well as corporate communication strategies for various multinational operations in Egypt.
As a certified management consultant, Ms. Wahba contributes her expertise to strategic management and marketing through performing strategic assessments, executive coaching and strategic marketing planning with private sector companies and business associations in Egypt.
Ms. Wahba has served with AmCham Egypt as co-chair of the Marketing Committee from 2007 to 2009 and as its chair starting 2010.
Ms. Wahba holds a postgraduate degree in integrated marketing communication and is a certified management consultant of the Institute of Management Consultancy of the United Kingdom. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts in mass communication and business administration from the American University in Cairo.

Emad El Din Taymour began his career in 1965 as a researcher at the Arab Research & Advertisement Center (ARAC). In 1968, he moved to Al Ahram Management & Computer Center (AMAC), where he occupied the post of general manager for commercial applications until 1975.
From 1975 until 1980, Mr. Taymour held the position of general manager for commercial activities at Alkan – M. Nosseir & Company. He later became shareholder and managing director of ALKANTRAC from 1980 to 1985.
From 1985, he has been the owner and president of AMENT Company, active in the field of promoting infrastructure projects in Egypt. He is also vice-chairman of Alexandria Sodium Carbonate Company (ASCC) (Solvay Group), a member of the board of Glassrock Insulation Company, president of the Egyptian Austrian Business Council, a board member of the Egyptian-Austrian Friendship Association, a board member of the Egypt Economic Forum and head of the European Strategy Group.
Mr. Taymour is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, the Egyptian Businessmen Association, the German-Arab Chamber of Industry & Commerce, the Canadian Business Council and a former president of the Rotary Club of Cairo.
Mr. Taymour holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in commerce.

Guy Bourn
Vice President, Land Warfare Systems ATK Washington Operations
Guy Bourn is ATK’s vice president for land warfare systems. His portfolio includes all systems that support the ground warrior, including precision-guided conventional munitions primarily for the U.S. Army. He serves as ATK’s interface with customers involved with land warfare systems in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Office of the Secretary of the Army and the Army Staff as well as the Army’s major subordinate command headquarters.
Gen. Bourn retired from the U.S. Army in 2004 as a major general. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in field artillery after graduating from West Point in 1974. His last position in the Army was chief, Office of Military Cooperation in Cairo, Egypt. He retired from the Army to accept the position as vice president of the first private company to manage a seaport in Egypt. After three years with Sokhna Port Development Company, he returned to the United States to join the ATK team.
During Gen. Bourn’s 30-year career in the Army, he served at numerous ranks, from captain to brigadier general. His last command position was as commanding general of the III Corps Artillery at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He also served as the special assistant to the assistant chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in which capacity he traveled with the secretary of state for two years.
Gen. Bourn holds an undergraduate degree in general engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a Master’s degree in systems technology from the Naval Postgraduate School.

Hassan Hassanin Hassaan worked as the Saudi Arabia area manager of Germany’s Heinrich Mack for 14 years, gaining extensive international experience in managing multinational pharmaceutical companies and a track record in business development.
Mr. Hassaan has established three pharmaceutical companies in Egypt: Sina Pharm, International Drug Agencies (IDA) and International Drug Industries (IDI). The three companies provide unique drug products for the local and international markets.
The International Drug Agency for Pharmaceutical Industries is the first company to establish a factory in East Port Said’s industrial zone.
Mr. Hassaan is also head of German pharmaceutical firm STADA’s Egypt scientific office.

Hatem Kheir is general manager of Kheir Group, which operates in the field of fluid-handling systems, including water and wastewater, as well as process, fire, power and industrial applications, and which represents pump companies from the United States, Britain, Korea, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and India.
Mr. Kheir is one of the founders and board members of the Egyptian Fire Protection Association and has represented Egypt in international conferences on fire protection. He is now director of the Confederation of Fire Protection Associations International, which oversees 28 associations around the world. He is also a member of the Fire Pump Technical Committee of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) in the United States.
In Egypt, Mr. Kheir is a member of AmCham Egypt, the German-Arab Chamber of Industry & Commerce, EICC, the British Egyptian Business Association and DBC.
A graduate in mechanical engineering from Cairo University, Mr. Kheir began his career in a private sector company in Egypt, worked in Saudi Arabia from 1984 to 1989, then returned to Egypt as area manager for Peerless Pump Company USA, where he worked until 1993. He then became the company’s agent in Egypt, a post he still holds.

Since 2005, he has been a board member of the Egyptian Railways Projects & Transport Company, which is responsible for managing the real estate assets of the Egyptian Railway Authority.

Mohamed El-Kalla is managing director of Cairo for Investment & Development, Egypt’s biggest investor in the area of private education. He is also chairman of ATC Consulting, senior partner at Sustainable Business Consulting, policy adviser and on the board of trustees for the Egyptian Institute of Directors at the Ministry of Investment, and policy adviser for the Private Sector Development Program at UNDP Egypt.
Mr. El-Kalla is a specialist on private sector sustainable development, educational and BOP investments, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. He started his career in UNHCR, moving on to UNV, UNRC and UNDP, where he supported the foundation of the Global Compact Network in Egypt and other countries in the MENA region. Mr. El-Kalla is responsible for the creation and management of more than 60 developmental projects and partnerships involving the private sector, including the founding of the Egyptian Responsibility Center and the Center for Transparency at the Ministry of Investment. He is currently managing the first established CSR and corporate sustainability consultancies in Egypt in addition to supporting the development of UNDP’s private sector development program.
Mr. El-Kalla has authored and supported the formulation of various CSR-related publications and more than 20 sustainability reports for leading companies in the region. He has co-organized and developed various key public awareness events in Egypt on issues from climate change to corporate sustainability and hosted a number of world-renowned figures. He has also trained and given lectures on the topics of CSR and businesses sustainability in more than 20 countries through different forums and related networks.

Mohamed Serry is a partner at Serry Law Office, one of the oldest law offices in Egypt, which specializes in litigation, corporate and real estate matters.
Mr. Serry is a former public prosecutor and worked as a corporate lawyer in Shalakany Law Office for seven years. He is specialized in corporate and trade law and has been working for more than 10 years on matters related to incorporation, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and dissolution, distribution agreements, and commercial agency and franchise agreements. He also has extensive experience in the field of real estate, handling matters related to property sale contracts, lease agreements, mortgage agreements, registration of property and all legal matters related to real estate transactions. Mr. Serry obtained his LL.B. from the Faculty of Law at Cairo University where he double majored. Mohamed Taymour

Mohamed Taymour is chairman of Pharos Holding, an investment bank that includes brokerage, asset management and advisory activities. Dr. Taymour was the founder and chairman of EFG-Hermes, helping to transform it from a start-up into the largest non-bank financial services firm in the Middle East. He is also chairman of the National Development Bank (NBD).
Dr. Taymour has worked as a consultant for both the Egyptian government and private institutions on a variety of assignments related to capital markets. He has held senior positions in investment banking and development banking institutions in Egypt, the United States and Kuwait. Prior to establishing EFG, he was head of the projects division at the Arab Fund for Economic & Social Development in Kuwait.
Dr. Taymour has been a prominent member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt since 1988, serving as chair of the Investment Committee from 1991 to 1997 and chair of the Stock Exchange Committee from 1998 to 2002. In 2003, and again in 2005, he was elected as a member of the AmCham Egypt board of governors.
In addition to his duties as chairman at Pharos Holding, Dr. Taymour is chairman of the Egyptian Capital Market Association. He is also an active member of the board of the New Urban Communities Authority and the Tourism Fund, which finances projects to the national benefit across Egypt. Dr. Taymour is a board member of Citadel Capital Education Foundation and a former president of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies. He is the founder of the Mohamed Taymour Writing Center at the American University of Cairo.
Dr. Taymour earned his undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from Cairo University and has a doctorate degree in systems analysis, with a minor in development economics, from Dartmouth College, USA.

Nawal Naguib Kelada

Nawal Kelada is a co-founder of Middle East Courier Services Company Egypt, established in 1977, where she continues as a management consultant, and also freelances for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as a management consultant and quality management trainer.
Ms. Kelada joined UNDP Cairo in 1963 and was involved in methodological administration, management, human resources development and training, as well as information and communication management and policy-making. She has undertaken many missions to other UNDP offices, establishing UNDP global administrative management systems, policies, procedures, human resources development training and capacity building programs. She has also conducted quality management training workshops in UNDP offices in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Egypt, Rwanda and Kenya.
Ms. Kelada became an international staff member with UNDP in 1986. In that capacity she served as roving officer for administrative services and human resources management, traveling extensively in the Arab region and Africa. She then served as operations manager for UNDP in Yemen, Djibouti, Somalia and Rwanda.
In 2000, she returned to Egypt and devoted her efforts to private business with Middle East Courier Services.
Ms. Kelada is a board member of the Rotary Club of Cairo Cosmopolitan, a founding member of Egypt’s Chapter of the Association for International Civil Servants (AFICS), a board member of ARASCOPE and a founding member and board member of Media Arts for Development (MADEV). Rajeev Chaba

Chairman and Managing Director, General Motors Egypt
Rajeev Chaba has been chairman and managing director of General Motors (GM) Egypt since October 2007. GM Egypt is a market leader with 26 percent market share of the auto industry and employs approximately 1,300 people.
Before his assignment with GM Egypt, Mr. Chaba served with GM India as president and managing director for more than two years and COO before that for another two years. He presided over significant expansion of GM India in terms of its product portfolio, manufacturing footprint, dealer footprint, new plant and GM Technical Centre in Bangalore. He was an active advocate for developing GM’s presence in India and oversaw significant changes in a short span of time.
Before this, Mr. Chaba worked as director of sales and marketing for GM Japan for nearly two years, where he facilitated the restructuring of GM’s business in Japan.
Mr. Chaba has been working in the automobile industry for the last two decades and has held senior positions in the industry both in India and abroad. As CEO of GM India, he represented GM in various industry and trade associations in addition to chairing a number of seminars, workshops, annual sessions and conferences organized by various premier industry associations in India and abroad. He was an elected executive committee member of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the governing board member of the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for two terms. He represented the bodies at various governmental meetings and also led the SIAM and ARAI delegations during various conferences at national and international levels. He was a governing council member of the American Chamber of Commerce in India.
Mr. Chaba holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a Master’s degree in business administration from IIM in Bangalore, India.

Sahar Sallab

Sahar Sallab was elected as chairperson of the holding company HitekNOFAL on March 1, 2010, where she is tasked with creating a regional strategy for the medium-sized company and making it an international public offering. HitekNO-FAL is a family business, where Ms. Sallab owns 25 percent of the total capital, that works in high technology solutions and networking engineering.
She was previously deputy minister for internal trade development and investment, with responsibility for developing a strategy and map for Egypt for internal trade as well as creating institutions that fulfill this strategy.
Previously, Ms. Sallab has served as vice chairman and managing director of Commercial International Bank (CIB), the largest private sector bank in Egypt, where she worked for 25 years. She was also chairman of CI Capital, the second largest investment bank in Egypt, until March 2008. She later worked at Citi Bank Chase Manhattan in both London and New York.
Ms. Sallab is a member of several important NGOs in Egypt. She has been elected to the board of directors of the National Council for Women and other NGOs related to social environment. She was previously a board member in the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt.
Ms. Sallab has been elected by Forbes magazine as the sixth most powerful woman in the region and one of the five strongest Muslim women.

Sherif H. Kamel

Sherif Kamel is founding dean of the School of Business at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and a professor of management information systems. Previously, he served as associate dean for executive education, and held a number of managerial positions. Before joining the university, he was director of the Regional IT Institute (1992-2001) and manager of the training department of the Cabinet of Egypt Information & Decision Support Center (1987-92).
He has accumulated experience in building and managing professional development institutions addressing management and leadership aspects. He consults to government organizations and corporations addressing executive development and IT strategy issues. His research and teaching interests include IT transfer to developing nations, electronic business and decision support systems. He has published widely in the areas of information systems and management. Dr. Kamel is associate editor of the Journal of Cases on Information Technology, Journal of IT for Development and the Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries. He is the editor of Electronic Business in Developing Countries: Challenges and Opportunities (2005) and Managing Globally with Information Technology (2003).
Dr. Kamel is a co-founding member of the Internet Society of Egypt (1996). He served as vice president for communications and member of the Executive Council of the Information Resources Management Association (2002-07). He is a member of the board of trustees of the Information Technology Institute and of the Sadat Academy for Management Sciences. He is an Eisenhower Fellow (2005) and a member of the Eisenhower Fellowships Alumni Advisory Council. He is co-chair of the ICT committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. He served as chairman of the Chevening Association in Egypt (2004-09). He holds a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics, and an MBA and a BA in business administration from AUC.

Soheir Kotb Farahat

Soheir Farahat is president of Ingyco Agencies, a private marketing company established in 1984 covering the fields of electronics, communications, maritime transport and services, textiles and wastewater disposal. When the privatization scheme of the Egyptian government was started, Ingyco Agencies marketed projects in the above fields, with a focus on the field of maritime transport and dredging projects.

Taha Khalifa is Intel Egypt’s country manager. Prior to that, Mr. Khalifa was director of Intel’s World Ahead Program in the MENA region, responsible for driving Intel’s World Ahead vision in the education, telco, digital health and accessibility sectors. He has been working for Intel for over 15 years and was recently responsible for driving Intel’s expansion plans in Africa and expanding the telco strategy in the region, focusing on increasing broadband penetration and creating strategic engagements with regional mobile operators.
Prior to this role, Mr. Khalifa acted as the lead business development manager in the telecommunication industry in EMEA Emerging Markets, focusing on building Intel’s plans and engagements with key service providers.
Mr. Khalifa joined Intel in 1995 and spent 11 years with Intel U.S., where he assumed several senior engineering, marketing and management positions. Prior to his move to the Middle East, he held the position of senior strategic planning manager for Intel’s wireless business. From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Khalifa was the chief architect and manager of a worldwide validation engineering team responsible for developing Intel’s multicore architecture validation tools, where he received several of Intel’s recognition awards.
Mr. Khalifa holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Alexandria University, Egypt, a Master’s degree in computer science from Dundee University, U.K., and an MBA from Arizona State University, USA.

Prior to his current position, he held the positions of Synovate country manager in Morocco (1996-99) and Synovate country manager in Egypt (200006). His 17 years of experience span various sectors across the MENA region, and he has worked closely with key clients in various sectors, including fast moving consumer goods, telecommunication, real estate, automotive, tourism and aviation, financial, consumer electronics, healthcare, and social and developmental research.
Mr. El Naggar is the elected Egypt representative of the European Society of Market Research (ESOMAR) and has spoken at several conferences and events. He received a best paper award from the Association of European Market Research Institutes (AEMRI) 2006 Conference for his paper on “New Product Development in the Middle East.”
Mr. El Naggar is curently co-chair of the Marketing Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and has been a member since 2001. He is also a key speaker in public events at Egyptian universities and business forums.
Mr. El Naggar holds an MBA in international business and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the American University in Cairo.

Tarek Elrefai has worked for the Bank of New York Mellon for 23 years, covering Egypt, North Africa, Levant and the Gulf. During his tenure, Mr. Elrefai has helped to significantly grow the company’s business in the region and diversify the revenue base across BNY Mellon’s spectrum of products. In 2006, Mr. Elrefai was promoted to managing director in recognition of his broad contribution to the bank’s business and profile in the region. Furthermore, his managerial responsibility was expanded to include a team of bankers based in Egypt, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and South Africa.
In January 2010, Mr. Elrefai was promoted to managing director, head of global client management Middle East & Africa, and he is now based in Dubai.
Mr. Elrefai is chairman of the MEA Revenue Council and Business Committee, and co-chair of the Islamic Finance Committee.
He is also chair of the Banking and Finance Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and vice chairman of the British International School in Egypt.

Mr. Mohanna holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in political science with a minor in economics, and a Master’s of Arts in international human rights law, both from the American University in Cairo. He completed his legal studies at BPP Law School in London.

Tom Walter began his 32-year career with ExxonMobil as an electrical engineer in Saudi Arabia. Since then, he has held various engineering, management and general management positions in refining, supply and trading, and marketing in the United States, Turkey, Zimbabwe, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal.
Mr. Walter and his family arrived in Egypt six years ago and he served four years as executive vice president on the board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. Previously, he has served on the board of the Corporate Council on Africa, as co-chairman of the American Business Association of Zimbabwe and as a member of the board of Junior Achievement Zimbabwe.
ExxonMobil Egypt has operated in Egypt for more than 100 years, focusing on retail, commercial and industrial marketing of fuels and lubricants products under the Esso and Mobil brands.
