Committee Work Plan
The activities for this term will cover two main areas a "Main Theme" comprising a series of events; and general HR-related seminars (3-4 seminars/topics)
A. Main Theme
Bridging the generations' expectations, competencies and talent gap in the Egyptian market
Introduction
One of the main challenges that have been facing employers in Egypt in general and HR functions in specific is the lack of "Talent Pool" that enables them to sustain their growth plans.
We are witnessing the following:
- Employers whose business are growing and providing thousands of job opportunities cannot find the right caliber despite the fact that a lot of them are employers willing to develop young people if they have the right attitude
- Unprecedented investments in training from the government, NGOs and private sector , so basically there is no lack of financial resources supporting youth development
- Educators who are aware of the gap and try to bridge it with almost an agreement on the skills needed to fill this gap
Despite all the above findings, the following is still witnessed:
Graduates are complaining from "Lack of Job Opportunities"!
So where is the missing link?
The HR Committee decided to look at this challenge from a more holistic approach through a series of events with the objective of understanding and bridging the new generations' expectations, competencies and talent gap in the Egyptian workforce.
Audience
- Employers (with a focus on employers who hire large number of people)
