6th Annual Employment Fair and Professional Development Fair for Middle Management

On December 19-20, 2009, AmCham's Career Development Center (CDC)held its 6th Annual Employment and Professional Development Fair for Middle Management. The fair took place at the Conrad Hotel and was organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham Egypt). The event featured 42 employer booths. Since the event came into being in 2004, it has proved to be a valuable recruitment resource for both employers and job seekers. A great testament to the success of the fair is the many returning exhibitors this year.

Throughout the two-day fair approximately 5000 job seekers roamed the fair booths gathering information and speaking to representatives from the participating companies seeking to employ from Egypt's talented workforce. Participants also received a detailed booklet with each company's background and current job vacancies.

The fair was sponsored this year by General Motors, Sphinx Glass (Platinum Sponsor) , AMIDEAST, National Bank of Egypt ( Gold Sponsor), British American Tobacco, MedMark and InterContinental CityStars Hotel (Silver Sponsor).

This year the fair featured special seminars by world-renowned speaker Francie Dalton, founder and president of Dalton Alliances. During the seminars held at the fair, Dalton discussed how to manage unwelcome change and errors in delegation. The two-day fair includes 16 sessions covering a wide selection of management topics, including planning and performance management, treasury and cash management, strategic human resources management, time management, and purchasing and supply chain management.
