Program Objectives

The Objective of the Program is to provide members who are involved with corporate cash management, financing and investment decisions, and risk management with a means for further demonstrating an expanded skill set. This exam provides an in-depth measure of competence in areas such as financial statement analysis, working capital policy, capital structure, valuation issues, and risk management.

Pre-requisites and Requirements

2 Continuous years of professional experience in Management Accounting and/or financial management, or continuous Part Time positions of 20 hrs/week at a rate of 1 year experience for every 2 years of part time employment.

Exam Window (s)

The American Chamber of Commerce is the sole center in Egypt offering the exam. Exams are taken at the Chamber's premises during the following windows:

  • Financial Statement Analysis (15-25%) -Accounting standard setting environment, Short-term liquidity, Capital structure and solvency, Return on invested capital, Profitability analysis, Earnings-based analysis, Other topics in financial statement analysis.


  • Working Capital Policy and Management (15-20%) - Nature of working capital policy and management, Cash management, Marketable securities, Accounts receivable management, Inventory management, Short-term credit for financing current assets.


  • Strategic issues in Finance (15-25%) - Valuing businesses, business segments, and business combinations, Sources of long-term financing, Capital structure policy, Dividend policy, Corporate restructuring


  • Risk Management (15-20%) - Types of risk, Measures of risk, Portfolio management, Approaches to financial risk management, Derivative financial instruments, Foreign operations, Managing nonfinancial risk.


  • External financial environment (15-20%) - Financial markets, Interest rates, Investor and shareholder relations, Financial institutions, Raising capital, Other environmental factors.


  • Employee benefit plans (5-10%) - Employee Retirement Income Security Act, Pension plans, Deferred compensation and non-qualified plans, Group health plans and benefits.
